Snip & Roll

PLAYDOUGH CUTTING

Perfect for little hands starting to explore scissors and fine motor skills

Perfect for ages 2.5yrs+ | Supervision recommended | Great for group or individual play

Materials Needed:

  • A ball of Play Sense Dough
  • A kid-friendly pair of safety scissors
  • A rolling pin
  • A clear space to play

How to Play:

  1. Roll it Out – Help your little one roll the playdough into a long ‘snake.’ This is great for hand strength and coordination.
  2. Snip, Snip! – Hand over the safety scissors and encourage them to cut the playdough into small pieces. If they’re new to scissors, you might need to guide their hands at first.
  3. Experiment! – Try different shapes, make tiny ‘pizzas’ by flattening the pieces, or roll mini balls and cut them in half.

Why This Activity Rocks:

Mighty Motor Skills - Cutting, rolling, and pinching build up those tiny hand muscles needed for writing, dressing, and other life skills
Hand-Eye Coordination - Develops critical thinking through hands-on challenges
Confidence & Independence - Mastering scissors is a big milestone and helps little ones feel proud of their skills!

Perfect for small groups, centers, or individual exploration
